(AIG Sonpo) Head of Events and Local Brand Activation / ヘッド・オブ・イベント・マーケティング
Job Purpose(職務目的)
This role is responsible for leading AIG Japan’s event strategy and execution, delivering high-impact client, broker, and internal engagement programmes that support business priorities and reflect best-in-class event delivery. The role plays a central part in strengthening relationships with clients and brokers while also supporting employee engagement through major internal communication platforms, including CEO-led initiatives such as the Japan Monthly Update. In addition, this role ensures consistent and high-quality brand activation across all event-related touchpoints, aligning with global brand standards and International content programming while delivering locally relevant execution for the Japan market.
Job Responsibilities(職責)
Core Responsibilities
- Define and lead AIG Japan’s event and engagement strategy aligned with business priorities and broader Marketing & Communications objectives.
- delivery of flagship client, distribution and corporate events including:
- AIG Japan Client Summit
- AIG Japan Regional Client Summit
- AIG Risk Management Academy (ARMA)
- Executive-level engagement programs
- Lead all Japan-based activation related to global sponsorships, including AIG Women’s Open and associated events and engagement programmes
- Ensure all events are delivered at the highest standard, reflecting AIG’s brand, reputation and market positioning
- Drive local brand activation by ensuring consistent and high-quality execution across all event touchpoints (venue, staging, content, materials, digital)
- Partner with Distribution and business leadership to ensure events support client engagement, relationship development, retention, and growth
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to align local execution with sponsorship strategy, brand guidelines and enterprise standards
Employee Engagement and Internal Events
- Support employee engagement through the planning and delivery of major internal events and communication platforms
- Partner closely with Internal Communications to deliver Japan CEO-led initiatives such as the Japan Monthly Update, ensuring high-quality production, strong message alignment and meaningful employee engagement.
- Plan and deliver town halls involving global executives, in partnership with International and New York-based teams.
- Contribute to organisational alignment, culture and connection through well-designed event and engagement experiences.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end event planning and execution, including concept design, logistics, content, and on-site delivery
- Oversee event production including branding, staging, and overall attendee experience
- Manage multiple large-scale and concurrent initiatives with strong prioritization, judgement and delivery discipline
- Lead, coach and develop a small, high-performing team of 3–4 colleagues.
- Manage external agencies, production vendors and strategic partners to ensure high-quality delivery and value for money.
- Manage budgets with strong financial discipline, ensuring cost efficiency and clear return on investment where appropriate.
- Track event outcomes, capture insights and continuously improve quality, audience experience and business impact.

Required Skills and Experiences(必要とされるスキル・経験)
Educational Qualification(学歴)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Specific Qualifications / Capabilities(必要なスキル・能力)
- Extensive experience in large-scale event management, client engagement or experiential marketing within financial services or a complex corporate environment.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver high-quality, high-impact flagship events
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
- Experience working in a matrixed, global organization
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior leadership and build credibility quickly.
- Ability to translate brand guidelines into effective, high-quality execution across live and event-related experiences.
- Strong attention to detail in production quality, staging, and audience experience design
- Creative, audience-focused mindset with a strong understanding of client and stakeholder expectations.
- Experience managing agencies, vendors, partners and budgets with strong commercial discipline.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to lead through collaboration and influence within a matrixed environment.

- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment with shifting priorities and senior stakeholder demands.
Total Experience(業務経験)
- 10+ years of experience in event management, client engagement, or related engagement programmes.
- Proven track record in leading high-profile, large-scale events and engagement programmes.
