The Role:

The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for the end to end Accounts Payable function including processing of invoices, payment creation and bank reconciliation. This role requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to adhere to ongoing deadlines and effective collaboration with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What you will be able to do:

  • Accurately receive, review, and process supplier invoices.
  • Raise purchase orders for production and installation.
  • Ensure invoices have the appropriate approval prior to processing.
  • Organise and collate fortnightly and ad hoc payment runs.
  • Create and upload ABA files into the banking system for approval.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for supplier communications and inquiries
  • Preparation of intercompany loan reconciliations
  • Posting journal entries including accruals and prepayments
  • Preparation of basic general ledger account reconciliations
  • Act as backup to Assistant Accountant

What are we looking for?

Ideally you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualification in book keeping / finance / accounting
  • 2-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Basic knowledge of accounting concepts including accruals and prepayments
  • Prior experience with Netsuite accounting software preferred 
  • Strong administrative and procedural skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures
