Accountant (12 Month Mat Leave Contract)

THE ROLE:
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Accountant to join our dynamic and diverse Finance team for a 12 month maternity leave cover. Based in Sydney and reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll step straight into a fast-paced environment where you will provide a wide range of accounting support to the business.
This is a Full-time, Fixed-term contract until February 2026.
In this role you will work closely across different stations within Nova Entertainment.
Specifically, you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Monthly reconciliations of a variety of balance sheet accounts
- Reconciliation of promotional budgets including working with key stakeholders
- Preparation of monthly BAS
- Maintenance of Fixed Assets Registers
- Prepare fortnightly payroll
- Quarterly and Annual FBT preparation
- Ownership of a range of month end tasks including month end journals, prepayments, and accruals.
- Other general reconciliations and analysis as required.
- Information gathering for annual audit and external bodies as requested
- Exposure to budgeting & forecast
- Ownership of the Employee Expense Management System and point of Contact for Credit Cards.
To be successful in this role you will have ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Junior Accountant or Graduate Accountant
- Degree qualification in Accounting or similar
- Be passionate about the radio and media industry
- Fluency in MS Office with intermediate capabilities in Excel
- Can do attitude
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a close team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
- A desire to continue to grow and shape your skill set
