Meet the Team
Sustainability
Our Sustainability Strategy, which was communicated to our staff in 2022, outlines our four key impact areas: Green Screens, People Power, Good Stories, and Positive Partnerships. Under each impact area, we have a number of key goals and actions that we propose to implement in the coming years.
As a Group, we are currently in the process of collating the data for our 2023 calendar year carbon footprint. We have partnered with a carbon consultancy company, which performs the calculations in accordance with the GHG Protocol for all three emission scopes. We are also in the process of appointing a consultant to help us develop our decarbonisation roadmap and set net zero targets, which we expect to be completed in the first half of 2024. As part of this project, we are also developing a renewable energy strategy for the business.
We are also looking to partner with Net Zero Media, who will assist us in developing a carbon calculator which will sit across our outdoor and cinema business, enabling us to determine the carbon impact of our advertising campaigns.
Diversity & Inclusion
At the heart of our Sustainability Strategy lies a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Over the past year, we’ve made remarkable strides in fostering an inclusive workplace. Our inaugural DEI survey, conducted in 2023, has been instrumental in shaping our DEI roadmap and initiatives moving forward!
We have established a dedicated committee responsible for championing diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging in our workplace. This committee will drive our DEI agenda, focusing on important areas such as cultural and linguistic diversity, gender equity, all abilities, parents and families, and LGBTQI+.
In June 2023, we established our first Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, for the purpose of developing our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan. We are planning to launch our RAP in early 2024. As part of this, we are working on developing career pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within our workforce. Other initiatives include celebrating National Reconciliation Week across our support offices for the first time this year, and our senior business leaders have also undertaken cultural awareness training.

Val Morgan is a proud charity partner with RSPCA, RUOK?, OzHarvest, Fred Hollows Foundation, UnLtd, and The Motion Picture Benevolent Society. Through our Workplace Giving Program, we are committed to giving back to the community and to our six worthy charities that our employees feel passionately about. We embody our FIERCE values through volunteering, donating, and skill-sharing and are dedicated to help those in need.
Our recent volunteering opportunities involved visiting an RSPCA shelter (some of our employees couldn’t resist adopting some cute doggies!) and with the help of talented OzHarvest chefs, our staff transformed rescued ingredients into gourmet meals which then got delivered to local charities!

Innovation
We’ve developed some of the most extraordinary innovations in the Australian media industry and across the globe.
Val Morgan’s data initiatives, CineTAM, CineTAM Live, and CineTAM Plus, provide clients with the world’s most advanced, measurable, and accountable platforms for planning and buying cinema advertising. These platforms offer insights into audience measurement, behavioural patterns, and psychographics patterns of cinemagoers and provide a deep audience segmentation to inform campaign planning.
In 2023, we concluded work with Amplified Intelligence to capture cinema attention data for the attentionPLAN platform, the first measurement of its kind globally, which discovered cinema captures more undivided attention than other media, with zero levels of non-attention.
At VMO, we’re at the forefront of innovation in Outdoor.
In 2014, we rolled out our DART technology which captures live, real-time data on audiences viewing our network giving clients access to demographic profiles and insights, AB & second-by-second creative testing, proof of campaign performance and proof of audience engagement. We also developed DART360 – a targeted, effective and efficient insights platform, empowering brands to gain a deeper understanding of audiences – what consumers think, what they do and where to locate them.
More recently in 2023, we developed the most sophisticated personalisation solution in programmatic outdoor, DCOOH which dynamically optimises the right creative, to the right audience, at the right time, on exactly the right screen.
