Trade Marketing Senior Manager

Overview

Trade Marketing Senior Manager is responsible to lead the channel development and trade marketing strategy and execution. This role will also play a pivotal role in shaping the brand presence in the market.

Responsibilities

What you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the national Trade Marketing and channel development strategy across Snacks and Quaker to deliver revenue, volume, and category growth targets.
  • Translate brand and category strategies into comprehensive channel plans, including budgeting, promotional architecture, and visibility programs.
  • Own the customer management business process, ensuring strong alignment between Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to optimize commercial opportunities.
  • Develop focused trade and shopper strategies for each key account and channel, ensuring consistency with brand positioning and category priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate trade promotions, in-store execution, and visibility programs to ensure ROI and effectiveness against company objectives
  • Analyze profitability, performance metrics, and customer health, and recommend actions to improve channel productivity and commercial returns.
  • Drive data-based decision-making using shopper insights, market research, and trade performance analytics to identify opportunities and strengthen execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Field Execution to ensure integrated and flawless delivery of trade programs.
  • Provide coaching and capability development to the Trade Marketing team, elevating processes, tools, and ways of working.

Qualifications

What you will need to have:

  • Trade Marketing & Channel Strategy Expertise – Strong capability in developing end-to-end channel plans, promotional architecture, segmentation, and in-store execution frameworks.
  • Category & Space Management – Skilled in category development, planograms, merchandising strategy, and driving category growth with key accounts.
  • Commercial & Financial Acumen – Proven ability to manage trade budgets, assess profitability, and make ROI-based decisions.
  • Analytical & Insight Application – Ability to synthesize data from POS, Nielsen, shopper insights, and market research to inform strategy and execution.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership – Strong collaboration skills to align Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance around integrated trade strategies.
  • Communication & Influence – Skilled in presenting insights, securing alignment with senior leaders (GM, Commercial Director), and shaping customer-facing narratives.
  • People Leadership & Capability Building – Experience coaching and developing Trade Marketing talent and uplifting commercial ways of working.
  • Education & Experience – Typically 8+ years in Trade Marketing, Category, or Commercial roles within FMCG; bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
