As apparel e-commerce penetration expands within Japan, apparel companies continue to strengthen their e-commerce capabilities. There is strong anticipation for the growth of Rakuten Fashion, backed by the Rakuten Group's robust member base and points ecosystem. We aim to achieve the top market share in the apparel e-commerce sector, with ‘Acquiring New Brands to Open Stores’ at the core of this strategy. We are particularly intensifying efforts to acquire leading domestic and international brands, as well as niche, high-sensitivity brands that have not been actively pursuing e-commerce expansion. To accelerate this strategy, we seek your experience and leadership as a Manager Candidate for New Brand Store Acquisition Sales.

Position Details

We expect you to lead the entire brand acquisition strategy that shapes the future of our business. This involves not only managing target achievement but also analyzing market trends and competitor movements, selecting the next brands Rakuten Fashion should acquire, devising approach strategies, and expanding into new business areas.
Specific Responsibilities
- New Brand Acquisition Sales for Rakuten Fashion
You will be responsible for the entire process: from strategic approaches to target brands (such as those expected to contribute significantly to sales, rapidly growing brands, or brands already present on competing e-commerce sites), to proposing the benefits of joining Rakuten Fashion leveraging the strengths of the Rakuten Group, contract negotiations, and providing smooth launch support after the brand joins. - Planning Sales Strategies for Brand Acquisition
Utilize market research data, competitor analysis, and internal data to identify target brands, develop approach strategies, build competitive advantages, and plan/propose new brand acquisition models to accelerate Rakuten Fashion's growth. - Future Team Management
As the manager of the New Brand Acquisition Team, you will be responsible for developing and managing team members. This involves a broad range of management duties, from setting team goals and progress tracking to coaching members to improve their performance.
Work Environment
Mid-career hires join us without prior experience in the apparel and fashion industry, so you can thrive even without industry background.
