Consulting Sales for Secondhand Brand Goods Dealer - Rakuma Business Department (Rakuma) (C&M)
Job Description:
Department Overview
Rakuten Rakuma was established in 2012 during the dawn of flea market apps. (Fril was launched in 2012 and merged with the former Rakuma in 2018.) Over ten years have passed since flea market apps first emerged, yet their transaction volume and user base continue to expand. Within this growth sector, Rakuma leverages Rakuten Group assets to provide benefits such as greater affordability, convenience, and a safe, secure user experience. Furthermore, Rakuma attracts a significant number of customers in their 10s to 30s within the Rakuten Group, and it also holds a high share of new Rakuten members. This positions Rakuma as crucial for acquiring new Rakuten members.

Position: Why We Hire
The flea market app “Rakuma” continues to grow as a platform for peer-to-peer transactions. Furthermore, we are focusing on strengthening our business-to-business offerings to further expand the potential of flea market apps. Currently, we are experiencing rapid growth in the business-to-business transaction space, including “Rakuma Official Shops” for used brand retailers and “Rakuma Cross-Border Service” for overseas businesses. Particularly, against the backdrop of a weak yen and rising inbound demand, the pre-owned brand market is booming, making Rakuma a crucial sales channel for businesses. During this growth phase, we seek partners to deepen our collaboration with businesses and expand our business together.
Attractiveness - Drive business growth through a unique position in the secondhand industry: Rakuma Official Shop and Rakuma Cross-Border Service achieve high satisfaction among business partners compared to other flea market apps. Leverage our unique strengths to contribute to the expansion of the secondhand market while experiencing the industry's dynamics firsthand. Amidst booming demand from inbound tourists and a weak yen, flea market apps serve as a vital sales channel for businesses in this thriving secondhand market. Your contributions in this vast market will directly fuel business growth.
- Deep involvement in business development as a Sales Consultant: Beyond merely chasing sales figures, you'll engage in upstream business development. This includes collaborating with the Marketing team to devise sales promotion plans and working with the Tech team on new feature development—all aimed at maximizing revenue for assigned businesses.
- Work in a small, elite team with significant autonomy and fast-paced decision-making: Join a young, dynamic organization centered around individuals in their late 20s to early 30s. Each member holds significant autonomy, and ideas directly drive business growth.
Position Details
In this role, you will be responsible for sales support and business growth assistance for corporate clients contracted with Rakuma (such as secondhand brand retailers and cross-border businesses). Even if you lack experience in the flea market app industry, rest assured that thorough training after joining will provide solid support.

- Planning and executing sales growth initiatives with clients (50%): Through monthly meetings, assess client performance, propose promotional strategies, and develop budget plans. Deeply understand client challenges and deliver data-driven strategic proposals.

- Collaboration and Management with Contractors (15%): Conduct performance management meetings with sales contractors to strengthen collaboration.
