We have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Transformation Delivery Manager to join our Colleague Digital domain in Technology here at BNZ.

What are 5 day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Lead and shape technology transformation roadmaps, helping reduce legacy risk while aligning to BNZ’s strategic direction.
- Provide hands-on solution design and engineering guidance, defining pragmatic interim states toward future architectures.
- Drive end-to-end delivery across complex initiatives, coordinating multiple teams and unblocking dependencies.
- Identify and remediate technology risk, including out-of-support systems and key-person dependencies.
- Champion modern engineering practices and AI-assisted SDLC, helping teams improve speed, quality and flow.

What projects / mahi will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
You’ll be at the centre of modernising BNZ’s legacy technology estate, working across critical colleague servicing platforms. This includes:
- Driving modernisation of legacy applications and platforms to reduce material technology risk.
- Leading domain initiatives that improve resilience, sustainability and platform health.
- Helping embed AI-first delivery practices and modern engineering disciplines into teams.

What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?
This is a senior individual contributor role. You’ll need to be comfortable operating across multiple domains, balancing strategy and execution, and making decisions with imperfect information. Success comes from building credibility quickly, navigating ambiguity and driving alignment across competing priorities.
What will success look like for the candidate in this role?
Measurable reduction in technology risk across legacy systems with strong momentum across transformation initiatives, and teams adopting more modern engineering and AI-assisted practices.

- Experience leading large-scale technology transformation or modernisation programmes.

- Familiarity with modern engineering practices and AI-assisted SDLC.
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments (beneficial).
