Podcast Producer
Mamamia is on the lookout for a Podcast Producer to join our best-in-class Podcast team.
But first, here's a bit about us.
Mamamia is Australia's largest women's media company.
Our core purpose is to make the world a better place for women and girls. That's what guides everything we do. And, uh, we do a lot. Mamamia reaches seven million women each month across our written, video, audio, and social platforms and we have the largest women's podcast network in the world.
What we're looking for.
As the Podcast Producer you will own the end to end content production of a selected podcast across the Mamamia network. You will collaborate closely with your direct manager to consistently find new ways to engage and grow the audience.
Here's some of the stuff you can expect to be doing if you join us:
- Manage the entire pre- and post-production process for assigned podcasts, ensuring high-quality content and smooth distribution.
- Develop and pitch episode ideas aligned with the show's themes, conducting thorough research and preparing detailed briefs for hosts.
- Source, book, and coordinate with relevant, diverse guests while overseeing recordings to ensure audio quality and content alignment.
- Edit and prepare podcasts for distribution, collaborating with editorial and social teams for cross-promotion and content repurposing across platforms.
- Craft engaging episode titles and prepare show notes with accurate links, distributing content across Mamamia's channels while fostering audience interaction.
- Track podcast performance, including audience growth, downloads, and commercial metrics, applying insights to enhance show quality.
- Provide feedback and direction to hosts during recordings and work with the Content Manager on airchecks and overall show improvements.
- Ensure compliance with commercial and regulatory requirements, flagging content-sponsorship conflicts and monitoring for legal adherence.
Now, a bit about you.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of producing high-quality podcast content
- Experience using audio editing software (Adobe audition preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated skill in audience engagement and driving show growth
- Strong content sourcing and research capabilities for compelling episode development
- Excellent scripting abilities and proven experience in guest booking and talent management
